KBShimmer Fall 2015 Collection

It's that time of the year, lots of brands are starting to release their Fall collections.  This Tuesday, September 15th, you can add KBShimmer to that list when they release their 2015 Fall Collection.  There are 12 new polishes in the collection, and today I've got swatches of 7 of the 12 to show you.

Let's start out with 2 of the 4 new cream polishes in the Fall Collection.  First up is Such A Vlad-Ass.

KBShimmer Such A Vlad-Ass

Such A Vlad-Ass is described as a "deepened blood red cream with a slight blue undertone."  I stopped at 2 coats and was very happy with the coverage.  I think a 3rd coat of the polish would have resulted in a darker, more berry shade of red, closer to the bottle color.  Although, even with just 2 coats, the polish did sometimes appear darker depending on the lighting.  I also applied 1 layer of top coat for these swatches.

Application of Such A Vlad-Ass was incredibly smooth.  It's a very pigmented polish, I was impressed by the coverage I got after just 1 coat.  I applied a 2nd coat just to even everything out.

Another new cream in the Fall Collection is a blackened blurple cream called Soul Deep.  As with Such A Vlad-Ass, I only needed 2 coats of Soul Deep for complete coverage, then finished with a layer of top coat.

This cream could almost be a one coater, incredibly pigmented.  It's leaning towards a very midnight blue color in my photos.  Under different lighting conditions though, the purple undertones really pop and you get more of that blurple look.  Another great cream from KBShimmer in terms of application, a very smooth formula.

I'm really looking forward to using this as a base for some nail art, maybe some stamping.  This is a polish that I think will work well for the Winter season as well.

Besides 4 new creams, the Fall Collection also includes a new linear holographic polish and several different types of glitters.  The new holo polish is a gorgeous fig shade called Fig-Get About It.

Another very pigmented shade, swatches show 2 coats of Fig-Get About It, without top coat.

And of course I had to get a shot of it out in the sunlight!

I Feel Gourd-geous is a fine holographic glitter polish in a champagne shade.

KBShimmer I Feel Gourd-geous

This one was a little thinner, which isn't much of a surprise for a fine glitter polish.  I needed 3 coats to get complete coverage, then applied top coat.

I'm never quite sure how shades like this are going to work with my pale skin tone, but I loved this on.  Another polish that I think could work for Winter as well as Fall.  I regret not getting any shots of this one out in the sun.  It sparkled so much indoors, I can only imagine what it'll look like out in sunshine.

Speaking of sparkle, Carpe Denim is navy jelly polish loaded with silver holographic glitters in a few different smaller sizes.

I love the simplicity of this polish, yet it seems to have so much depth to it.  It's almost like instant galaxy nails.  I used 3 coats for the swatches of Carpe Denim but you can get complete coverage in just 2 coats.  It dried to a smooth, shiny finish, but I still applied a layer of top coat to get an ultra smooth finish.

This was one that I made sure to run outside with and snap a shot or two out in the sun.

Another new glitter I was really excited for is this black jelly polish with rainbow metallic glitters called Dark & Twisty.

KBShimmer Dark & Twisty

I applied 3 coats of Dark & Twisty for full coverage, as well as a layer of top coat.  Application was great, the formula was very easy to work with and it dried to a smooth finish.

The polish has a really nice glitter payoff, though the glitters don't quite pop against the black on the nail as well as they do in the bottle.  I took a shot of this one outside in the sunlight though to show how the glitters show up better under brighter lighting.

The last polish I have to show is a crelly polish called Open Toad Shoes.  In her email about the Fall Collection, Christy of KBShimmer mentioned that Open Toad Shoes was a surprise favorite when she showed the collection earlier at Cosmoprof NA.  When I saw her bottle shots of the polish, I could understand why.

First of all, the olive base in this polish is right up my alley.  I love all things green, but especially olive or olive drab type shades.  And the mix of navy, burgundy, and chartreuse glitters compliment the olive base perfectly.

When you first look at it, you're not quite sure what to make of it, but the longer you stare at it, you start to become obsessed with it.  I ended up wearing this polish for the last 2 weeks.

This might possibly be one of my favorite KBShimmer collections of all time.  There's a few others in the collection I'm thinking about ordering once the collection goes live this week, especially one of the other crelly polishes.  I'm looking at you I've Seen Sweater Days!

The 2015 Collection is available for purchase starting Tuesday, September 15th, at KBShimmer.com.  The cream polishes retail for $7.50 each, and the holo polish and glitter polishes retail for $8.75 each.
