KBShimmer Spring Collection 2015 - Holo Swatches

Press Sample

KBShimmer Spring 2015 Holos

Where did January go?  Seriously.  Where???  One day it was New Year's, then *POOF* I'm watching the groundhog predict 6 more weeks of Winter.  Since January decided to fast forward on me, let's just fast forward a little bit more, to Spring.  Because today marks the release of the new KBShimmer Spring Collection for 2015.  I have a total of 8 out of the 12 new Spring polishes to show you, and in today's post I'm starting out with 4 of the 8 shades.  Keep reading after the jump for my swatches of the 4 new KBShimmer holo polishes.

First up is a combo holographic/shimmer polished called Blush Money.  Christy based this shade on the color Strawberry Ice, which is one of the colors in the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Spring 2015.  Blush Money is a peachy rose color with a gold, flaky shimmer that can be seen indoors.  Outdoors, the sunlight brings out a linear holographic glow.

I used 3 thin coats for even coverage, and then added one layer of top coat.  Application of Blush Money was smooth and the formula was easy to work with.  It has a subtle holo effect, especially compared to the other holo polishes in this collection, but the subtle holo compliments the peachy rose color well.  And I really love the gold shimmer, which shows up strongly on the nail, not just in the bottle.

When I first received information on the new Spring Collection, I could not wait to see these next 3 colors in person.  Not only did they look like they were going to be gorgeous holographic polishes, but Christy referred to them as ultra-holos, and that sounded right up my alley!  My favorite holo polishes are linear, and I want as strong of a holo effect as you can get, which is exactly what these 3 shades deliver.  I didn't even need to be out in the sunlight to be completely mesmerized by the linear holo in these polishes.  I fell in love with all 3 of them.

Thistle Be The Day is a "pale pinkish purple" with, of course, a strong linear holo effect.

I applied 2 coats of Thistle Be The Day.  This seemed to me to be the most opaque of the 3 ultra-holos.  The formula applied like a dream, all swatches are shown without top coat.

The next ultra-holo shade is called Blue-d Lines, a cool toned shade of pale blue.

KBShimmer Blue-d Lines

I did apply 3 coats of Blue-d Lines, compared to just 2 coats of Thistle Be The Day, but the 3rd coat wasn't even really needed.  Great formula to work with, and these swatches are also without any top coat applied.  I have quite a few blue linear holo polishes already, so I wasn't sure what my reaction to this shade would be, but as soon as I put on the first coat, I knew this had already become my new favorite blue holo polish.

The final polish I have to show you today is not just my favorite of the 4 new holo polishes, but it is my favorite polish of this entire Spring Collection.  This citron green ultra-holo shade is called Ins And Sprouts.

Pardon me, I just need to pause here for a bit and stare at this picture for a while longer...  I wish I still had this on my nails right now.  It was actually the first polish from the Spring Collection that I swatched because I just needed to get it on my nails immediately as soon as the bottles were in my hands.  I love green.  I love these types of shades of green.  And it's holo.  Scratch that, it's ultra-holo.  So how could I not love this?!?  As with the other ultra-holo polishes, I have no topcoat on in these swatches, and the formula was a breeze to work with.  I used 3 thin coats of Ins And Sprouts to achieve this look.

Blush Money is such a pretty shade, perfect for Spring.  And the new ultra-holos certainly did not disappoint.  They far exceeded my high expectations.  If you love holo polishes, I recommend all of these, especially the 3 ultra-holo shades.  These polishes are available starting today, February 6th, at KBShimmer.com, where all 4 holo shades retail for $8.75 each.  International customers can visit www.harlowandco.org for details on ordering and shipping KBShimmer polishes outside of the US.  I'll be posting another set of swatches this month, which will include 3 new crelly glitter polishes and 1 new cream shade from the 2015 Spring Collection.
